Proxim has introduced wireless access products that support Wimax, Wi-Fi mesh, and Wi-Fi access in a single system.

The Meshmax products enable a deployment architecture that increases the capacity of mesh networks, simplifies their deployment, and provides outdoor mobility for existing Wi-Fi users, said Proxim.

Daryl Schoolar, an analyst at In-Stat, said, "The convergence of Wimax and mesh is a natural evolution in broadband wireless, as it maximises the strengths of both technologies."
