Bocada's BRM software sits on top of existing storage management software and provides an intuitive interface to help IT managers save time by consolidating storage back up logs into easy-to-digest reports.
The software can help large companies understand which department is using the most storage. BRM can also assist storage service providers to bill their customers more precisely, said the company's chief executive officer, Mark Silverman.
Installed on any Microsoft Windows NT or Windows 2000 client, BRM software is compatible with storage management software from Computer Associates, Legato Systems, Hewlett-Packard, Veritas Software and Microsoft. An IBM-compatible version should also arrive shortly, Silverman said.
Pricing starts at $5,500 (£3,763) for a perpetual licence for a single server installation, with volume discounts for multiple server installations.
Silverman said customers using BRM software could expect a return on the investment in under ten weeks through the prevention of data loss previously unknown to the customer.
