BT broadbandcustomers will now be
able to use aMicrosoft
Xbox 360gaming console to access internet TV,
on-demand movies and sport through the BT Vision IPTV
package.
BT Vision, which is already powered by the Microsoft Mediaroom
Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) platform, will be available through
the Xbox 360 from the middle of this year.
Existing customers currently use orthodox digiboxes to access
the service. The Xbox-based service will be available to existing
and future Xbox 360 console owners. Customers will still be able to
access the service through standard set-top boxes.
The Xbox Live gaming service will be integrated into the BT
Vision package, providing users with a wide range of
community-based features, such as voice chat and sending and
receiving text and voice messages - all while watching TV.
