Government procurement arm
OGCbuying.solutions has expanded its framework agreement with
LogicaCMG to offer the public sector extended payroll and human
resources solutions.
The expanded Catalist framework agreement follows the original
payroll agreement between the HM Treasury and LogicaCMG, originally
signed in 2002.
In the past five years, the original membership of 13
participating organisations has grown six fold to 70 members, with
LogicaCMG now providing payroll services to a third of central
government employees.
Matthew Jones, financial controller at OGCbuying.solutions,
said, “Since entering the framework agreement five years ago,
LogicaCMG has delivered an outstanding service to public sector
organisations and the contract extension is testament to this.
“There are potentially huge benefits to be gained from shifting
to a shared services model and we encourage every public sector
organisation to consider this approach in order to improve process
efficiency and reduce costs,” he said.
The Commons public accounts committee recently published a
report that OGCbuying.soutions was not up to the mark when
delivering maximum savings to the public sector.
The government recently took the decision to make the
procurement arm focus more on central government savings.
