Nimans has brought on board some major IT distribution experience hiring a former Tech Data Azlan managing director with plenty of experience in the channel.
The arrival of Colin McGregor as its first director of major accounts will give the firm the chance to beef up its position in the UC and IT markets.
McGregor has operated in the distribution sector for two decades and after leaving Tech Data spent the last three years as a partner at channel consultancy Demuto.
At Demuto he was responsible for strategic growth planning and his latest role will also involve looking for sales opportunities for resellers and carriers.
“As director of major accounts I will work closely with vendors and resellers to provide higher, wider and deeper working relationships. It’s imperative that we further understand our customers’ strategies and the direction they are taking particularly around UC so that we become their key strategic partner in helping them drive further forward and exceed their business objectives," he said.
“Given the huge increase in SIP deployment, this will form a big part of the strategy we are going to implement in tandem with market leading major brands. The value we can bring in terms of the historic knowledge in the market is absolutely key," he added.
McGregor has joined a firm that has been seeking growth and earlier this year it announced a warehouse expansion, that would add an extra third of floor space, which will be completed by October.
Speaking about the plans back in March Nimans chairman Julian Niman talked of a business that had enjoyed steady growth.
“Over the last 36 years we’ve come a long way. I started the business repairing CB radios from limited space at my father’s jewellery business and this latest expansion gives us room to grow even bigger and better,” Niman's said.
