Channel roundup: Who's gone where?

If the chance to open your Advent calendar wasn't enough excitement, MicroScope brings you its weekly roundup of who has gone where in the channel

Exclusive Networks

Exclusive Networks made two senior sales appointments this week. Richard Carpenter has been appointed sales director, and Lee Widdowson has joined the distie’s Chesterfield office as divisional sales manager.

Carpenter will report directly to MD Graham Jones and will work to find new partners and deepen relationships with existing ones. Widdowson will focus on building relationships with SMB VARs throughout the UK.

“Our successful strategy of working in partnership with our vendors and partners has fueled our growth to date and these appointments signal our intent to continue this as we aim to break the £200M mark in 2017,” said Graham Jones, MD. “As we look to become sole distributor with more vendors, we require new people who bring new ideas and methods. With Richard and Lee’s experience and the Exclusive Networks environment, we have a winning combination.”

Richard added: “As the pace of change in the security market increases it’s a great time to join the team and work with partners to deliver better, more comprehensive security solutions that enable customers to meet the complex and ever-changing security challenges they’re faced with.”

Exponential-e

British cloud and network provider, Exponential-e, announced the growth of its public sector team with the appointment of Sangeeta Dewan as public sector director and Ed Renwick as senior public sector director.

Dewan will focus on healthcare, having managed similar IT contracts at Atos and RPS Group.

Renwick has worked on developing cloud, networking and data propositions for Oracle, Virgin Media and 2E2.

“Public sector organisations are facing a challenging future with Brexit fears and spending cuts looming,” said David Lozdan, head of public sector, Exponential-e. “As a result, many are looking to make savings whilst boosting efficiency […] Our investment in our public sector team, spearheaded by Ed and Sangeeta’s expertise in health, education and local government, will enable us to provide premium-grade services and counsel to a growing roster of public sector clients.”

Purple

Purple announced that Richard Roberts is joining as VP of EMEA.

He will be responsible for leading the regional team and driving revenue through Purple’s channel partners.

Roberts joins from Cisco UKI, where he was MD Commercial and Partner Sales for the last four years.

“This is the opportunity I have been looking for and I am thrilled to be joining the team,” he commented. “I have been involved with Purple for the past three years, during which time the business has flourished in a challenging market. The proposition has evolved to capture the imagination of even the largest of customers.”

“There is also a cultural connection, which for me is critical, where core values are shared and where everyone is working for one another. I have seen this in Purple and I am looking forward to becoming a part of it.”
