Channel roundup: Who's gone where?

MicroScope catches up on any and all executive appointments in the channel this week, with moves at Riverbed, F5 and Dataguise

Riverbed Technology announced that Giovanni Di Filippo has been appointed vice president of channel sales for EMEA. Di Filippo will have overall responsibility for channel operations and go-to-market strategy. He will report to Kristian Thyregod, senior vice president, EMEA.

Di Filippo joins Riverbed from SAP, where he was VP of the Global Strategic System Integrator (GSSI) division, responsible for the overall indirect reselling business as well as the business expansion of SAP’s largest global GSSI partners.

“As our channel business model depends on the tremendous value brought by our partners, Giovanni is the right leader,” Thyregod said. “He will play a key role at Riverbed to help us deliver innovative solutions as businesses go through a digital transformation and turn to next-generation, software-defined networks for fast and agile application delivery.”

Di Filippo added: “Riverbed is exceptionally well placed to deliver industry-leading application performance and software-defined solutions to the market. Our challenge is to ensure that our partners across EMEA are equipped to realise and capture the opportunity that the new software-defined age presents and enable them to solve customer challenges with the Riverbed portfolio of architectural solutions."

F5 Networks announced additions to its sales leadership team with the hires of Peter Brant, SVP of North America Sales, and David Helfer, VP of Worldwide Channels.

“We welcome Pete and David, two well-known and highly respected global sales executives, to the F5 team,” said John DiLullo, executive vice president of Worldwide Sales at F5. “Their deep understanding of the security and cloud markets and their experience with traditional and emerging channels make them uniquely qualified to help F5 supercharge our sales efforts.

Brant has an extensive background in developing strategic channel and partnership programmes. Most recently, he served as head of Americas sales at Fortinet.

Helfer joins F5 from the cybersecurity company, Lookout, where he served as VP of Worldwide Channels.

Dataguise announced the appointment of Ron Miles as vice president of international sales.

The appointment comes as the data protection provider looks to expand its international operations, with new offices opening in London.

Previously, Miles was managing director of RSA UK & Ireland, where he developed and implemented channel programmes and strategies.

“I am thrilled to be joining Dataguise at such an exciting time of growth for the organization and look forward to amplifying that success across EMEA,” said Miles. “The expansion of Dataguise into the region, which traditionally has been reliant on less effective solutions for the protection of sensitive data, represents a significant opportunity. I am excited to grow with the company and bring to customers in this market the most advanced detection, protection and monitoring solution for sensitive data.”
