Channel roundup: Who's gone where?

With all eyes on the quarterly reports, we take a breath and have a quick look at who's gone where in the channel over the past week


Riverbed Technology announced the appointment of Chris Elsmore as its new vice president of channel sales for EMEA.

Elsmore will report to Kristian Thyregod, SVP EMEA, and will head up the channel sales team and partner strategy in the region.

Elsmore joins Riverbed from Guidewire Software, where he was VP of Global Alliances. He’s also held senior channel roles with Panopticon Software, SAP Business Objects, and i2 technologies.

“As the market evolves, we have a huge opportunity to meet the challenges of the hybrid enterprise and deliver solutions for software-defined networks,” said Thyregod. “With the vast majority of our revenue generated through our channel sales model, Chris’ proven experience will be instrumental in driving our partners to embrace and sell our portfolio of solutions as part of the Riverbed Application Performance Platform™ and build upon our continued success in the region.

Application & network security solutions provider Radware has appointed Jono Clarke-Storey as channel director for Northern Europe.

Clarke-Storey comes over from F5 Networks, where he was channel manager.

ShoreTel has announced the appointment of Gary Gould as marketing director, EMEA.

His key focus will be on growth programmes, channel marketing and driving partner engagement in the region.

"Twenty years’ experience" seems to be the baseline criterion for senior channel managers and Gould’s background doesn’t disappoint. He’s held key marketing roles at Cisco, Verizon, BT and Panduit. Gould joins ShoreTel from Trustpilot, where he developed its global partner marketing strategy.

He brings extensive channel and cloud expertise to ShoreTel’s global marketing team and has a great track record of successful integrated marketing campaigns under his belt,” said Mark Roberts, chief marketing officer at ShoreTel. “EMEA is a crucial market for us and this important addition to the team is further evidence of our commitment to meeting both customer and channel demands in all corners of the globe.”


Westcon-Comstor has announced that Garry Boon will take on the role of general manager for the company’s unified communications and collaboration (UCC) division.

Boon, has more than – yep, you guessed it - 20 years of industry experience and was most recently vice president of GTM and Field Strategy, at 3D printing specialist Stratasys.

“Garry brings invaluable know-how to Westcon. His proven ability to drive fast growth and build long-term profitable channel relationships will be a great asset to the company,” commented Tony Nevill, managing director, UK & Ireland, Westcon-Comstor.
