Redcentric acquisition spurs growth

Redcentric has completed the integration of InTechnology and revealed growth in its managed services business

Redcentric has completed the integration of InTechnology Managed Services to create one of the largest IT managed service operations in the UK with an estimated annual turnover north of £90m.

The acquisition of InTechnology late last year in a £65m deal was designed to bolster Redcentric’s managed services. The outcome on the ground is a sprawling data centre operation with a significant cloud platform and greater technical support skills.

Redcentric says the integration of the two businesses has already paved the way for a number of new contracts including The Salvation Amy, The Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) and several wins via the government’s G-Cloud framework. It claims one of the latter with an NHS partner is valued at over £5m.

It also claims the acquisition has strengthened its position as a public sector provider when the HSCIC named it as one of only two private sector commercial aggregators with authority to connect third party organisations to N3 – the internal NHS network.

Tony Weaver, chief executive, Redcentric said: “We are now well positioned to offer both existing and new customers the benefits of a wider managed services portfolio of industry-leading technologies and superior levels of support. This has been reflected in the new business success we have recently enjoyed which is supported by a strong sales pipeline for the future.”

Redcentric’s core business was previously focused on services include infrastructure, networks, mobile, security, applications and collaboration tools delivered on-premise, as a managed service or via the cloud. However, since the acquisition Redcentic has lost little time in combining voice, data, applications, networking and hosting solutions in order to ramp up its cloud services via a network of five data centres.

The company now has over 450 staff and over 2,000 commercial and public sector customers across healthcare, education, retail, hospitality, manufacturing, financial and professional services.
