ZyXEL picks e92plus for security push

SME networking vendor ZyXEL signals 2014 agenda with recruitment of e92plus to drive its security sales

Networking, comms and security vendor ZyXEL has hooked up with VAD e92plus in an attempt to lock down more security solutions sales in 2014.

Claiming to see increasing demand from its reseller partners for specialist service and support on its security appliance lines, ZyXEL said e92plus would focus first and foremost on driving sales of its ZyWALL VPN firewalls and Unified Security Gateway UTM kit.

The distie will also take on its wireless and switching solutions to ensure partners are still able to provide a comprehensive network infrastructure solution for clients.

ZyXEL UK and Ireland channel head Antony Byford said the signing added a new dimension to its channel engagement, enabling it to penetrate deeper into the security specialist channel.

“As one of the leading value added distributors of security solutions, e92plus will enable us to engage with more partners at a higher level and provide essential services and expertise to support new and existing partners,” he explained.

“ZyXEL has a growing presence in the VPN and unified security appliance sector and this appointment will ensure we can continue to meet demand and grow our business.”

Mukesh Gupta, MD at e92plus, said he thought ZyXEL was becoming a “real force” in the market, with a “renowned and trusted brand and … a very strong product range”.

Added Gupta: “We see very strong demand from our partners for products that offer excellent protection with simple, cost-effective management, and the ZyXEL range delivers that. It will also complement the rest of our networking and security portfolio and drive increased deal size.”

ZyXEL has also kicked off 2014 with a security-specific trade-in offer on its ZyWALL 110, 310 and 1100 VPN firewalls, offering partners discounts of 30% when they trade in old ZyXEL or competitive security appliances.
