Micro-P has appointed Azlan’s HP Networking business manager Gavin O’Shea as its new general manager of networking and communications.
A seven-year Azlan vet who has also done time with Ingram Micro and defunct German system builder MAXDATA, O’Shea will take charge of a unit that has already grown its sales by nearly a quarter this year.
The DCC-owned firm said his appointment would help to solidify its strategy across its networking and comms portfolio, as well as delivering more technical excellence within the channel in areas such as UC, CCTV, audio-visual, mobile, telephony and datacentre solutions.
Micro-P commercial director Phil Brown said the unit would continue to expand into 2013 as it targets more enterprise-level opportunities.
“Gavin’s wealth of experience and vendor relationships will be a key driver for our growth in 2013,” he added.
O’Shea becomes the second person to leave the C2000 stable for Micro-P in the space of a fortnight; earlier in the month its consumer business development head Caroline Hope also crossed the floor.
