Iomega turns gaze on surveillance market

Iomega is looking to exploit the move by the market away from analogue CCTV cameras to IP based technology with a NAS bundle for partners

Iomega has set its sights on gaining market share in the IP surveillance market after developing a bundle that resellers can offer to those users looking to make the move away from analogue technology.

The vendor has put together a solution based around a NAS box with video management software installed as well as IP cameras that should arm resellers looking to target the physical security market.

The shift by the traditional physical security market away from analogue CCTV cameras to IP connected higher definition products has been taking place slowly over the last couple of years but is picking up speed according to Andy Connor, UK and Ireland country manager at Iomega.

"That whole market is picking up," he said "And it doesn't matter if you are a small shop needing six to eight cameras or a bigger enterprise looking for 80 the solution is scalable."

He added that it was looking for more ways to make solutions that resellers could sell easily into different market segments as part of its plans for next year: "This is storage and surveillance all in one and there will be more next year as well."
