The distributor is backing Microsoft's Britain Works programme, which aims to create more jobs and qualified staff in the IT sector, and has been working with its own apprentices but is now looking to get resellers to do the same.
"If you are a reseller looking to grow your business then a Microsoft Apprentice could be a cost-effective and valuable addition to your business," said Dominic Gill, apprenticeship programme manager at Microsoft.
Westcoast wants to try and get 500 apprentices working in the channel and is promoting its own experience to those considering extending their help to the next generation.
We have ourselves recruited a number of Microsoft apprentices and are very impressed with the programme. We want to raise awareness to our resellers and the channel of the fantastic opportunity that the Britain Works programme represents," said Phil Bell, marketing manager at Westcoast.
