Emerging revenue opportunities for the channel with digital transformation
Digital transformation is a phrase that means many things to many people but for it to have any real relevance to the channel then it needs to mean a chance to make money. This guide will share some of the recent developments in the channel and the latest thoughts about the issue.
Consumerisation of IT, with staff brining in their own devices, has become one of the major themes of this year, causing both security and management headaches for customers.
Speaking at the Kaysea managed services reseller event in Britsol Quocirca principal analyst Rob Bamforth said that the current confusion about mobile technology was not only set to continue but would become an even greater challenge.
"We will see a lof of mobile devices and it will remain a complicated environment which makes life difficult for those people controlling these devices," he said.
"The problems are only goting to get harder. The mobile devices world presents a confusing and complex picture," he added.
Other resellers at the event echoed Bamforth's warning with Roger Harry, managing director and founder of Circle IT, pointing out that to try and deal with the growing number of devices without some sort of management didn't make any sense for users.
Bamforth said that the channel was ideally positioned to help customers cope with the influx of mobile devices and the opportunity in the managed services space was a growing one.
