Westcon has said its partners can now better serve multinational businesses after acquiring its first ever presence in Switzerland in the shape of Germany-headquartered security VAD entrada Kommunikations.
Entrada distributes kit from Trend Micro, McAfee, Juniper and Riverbed, among others, and made sales of over €90m in 2010. It will now report into Westcon's European security operation.
Jens Montanana, chief exec of Westcon parent Datatec, said: "The acquisition of the second largest security distributor in Germany ... gives its European security division a wider geographic footprint to better service its customer requirements."
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
