Managing director Robert Cavan said the firm's independence would enable it to be "more agile and responsive to the needs of our customers and partners".
"The new management team has some great ideas and a renewed impetus to really move things forward," he added.
In accordance with TUPE regulations, 58 employees, mostly based out of Stoke, have been transferred to the new company.
Last week former parent Redstone announced another round of redundancies, which it said was a move to trim the fat as it restructures three business units into a single firm.
RMS has already put its mark to a new vendor partnership with Webroot, which was signed last week.
It also counts firms such as Fortinet, McAfee, Sophos and Websense among its other vendor partners.
