EMC's global channel boss Willem Hendrickx has resigned and plans to exit the storage arena after more than eight years at the firm to hone in on another sector in the industry.
He joined the storage behemoth in 2001 as EMEA vice president for channels and mid-market and became senior vice president of the global channels office in the summer of 2008.
"I needed a new challenge after eight and a half years with the company," he told MicroScope, "I don't want to be in the storage business anymore. I have a couple of offers which I am evaluating".
A spokeswoman at EMC said it had found a successor to Hendrickx "and an announcement will be made shortly."
