DataFest19 – Scotland, 11 to 22 March 2019
DataFest19 is a festival of data innovation run by The Data Lab, with events hosted across Scotland from 11th to 22nd March 2019. Now in its third year, DataFest will showcase Scotland’s leading role in data on the international stage, while offering an unprecedented networking platform where you can interact with local and international talent, industry, academia and data enthusiasts.
DataFest19 Programme:
Women in Data Science Event – 11 March, Edinburgh
Part of the world-wide Women in Data Science initiative by Stanford University, this event brings together women data scientists and school girls to showcase what a data career looks like, and inspire the female data leaders of the future.
Data Tech – 14 March, Edinburgh
At DataFest19 we will launch a new Technical Day event providing a forum for the Scottish technical community to discuss deep technical elements of data science, share experience, learn from each other and forge new collaborations to benefit both themselves and their organisations. DataTech will encourage a deeper technical forum and discussion, bringing together technical communities, practitioners and academics working on similar challenges across different sectors to share knowledge and collaborate.
Data Talent Scotland - 19 March 2019, Glasgow
Now in its thirds year, Data Talent Scotland brings together aspiring data science and engineering students with employers from across the country. The event is an opportunity to network, discuss and learn from some of Scotland’s leading data leaders, professionals and researchers, while providing a networking forum to facilitate recruitment and employment.
Data Summit – 21 & 22 March 2019, Edinburgh
A two-day international conference presenting compelling stories on data innovation with keynotes, panels, pitches and lots of inspiration. Data Summit brings together data leaders and practitioners across industry, the public sector and academia. We strongly believe bringing these communities together to collaborate is a key ingredient towards data driven innovation.
Fringe Events – 11 to 22 March 2018, Across Scotland
A series of events across Scotland throughout the DataFest19 week, run by external partners under the DataFest umbrella. This can include hackathons, debates, meetups, and any innovative activities focused on data innovation and collaboration.
