Brother recruits MPS specialist

Brother has brought on board a managed print services specialist to grow its activity in the mid-market

Brother has strengthened its support for managed print specialists after appointing an industry veteran with responsibility for heading up its effortsb on that side of the market.

The vendor has recruited former 20-year staffer at Oce Canon Mike Mulholland, who established a managed print services (MPS) division in the UK during his time at the firm, will lead the services and solutions team.

Most printer vendors have declared that MPS is an area they want to put more muscle behind this year and Brother's move comes against a backdrop of rivals also looking to provide more support for the channel.

Brother UK managing director Phil Jones said that it had recruited someone with expertise in not just the market but specifically around the managed print area to help grow its activity in the MPS arena.

“Mike has a history of delivering sound MPS strategies targeted at mid-market and enterprise businesses. His leadership style and experience will undoubtedly help define and grow our MPS business in 2014 and beyond," he said.

Mulholland said that it already had "a solid standing with MPS among SMEs" and his task was to move from that base towards doing more activity in the mid-market.
