Vendor appointments dominate the channel moves this week giving a bit of homework for resellers keen to ensure their relationships are maintained with senior management at their key suppliers.
The firm has appointed Richard Hudson as vp and general manager in EMEA. A lot of his efforts will be placed in getting the firm's foothold in vertical markets, including retail and transportation, to be even stronger. "Richard is an ideal fit for this role with his track record of creating effective teams focused on helping partners and customers reach higher levels of growth and productivity," said Joe Heel, senior vice president, global sales at Zebra.
The 4G LTE and hybrid networking distributor is aiming to expand its presence in Europe and has appointed Paul Evans as European business development director. He has plenty of channel experience as well as having built up specialist knowledge in IoT and networking. He has been joined by European business development manager Huw Thomas.
The firm has brought Gerard Allison on board as vice president of EMEA and he will oversee all operations, including keeping an eye on the channel team. His CV includes a recent spell at Juniper Networks, where for a while he was UK channel director. Allison also spent three years as UK country manager for Netscreen Technologies and held other channel roles at companies including Open Capital, Wall Data and Borland.
The unified comms player has appointed Dino Di Palma as chief revenue officer, which is a newly created position. He will be looking after the global sales organisation and will be pushing the 'Powered by Broadsoft' branding and partner initiatives. Michael Tessler, president and CEO of the vendor said that one of the attractions of Di Palma was his relationships with service providers.
