Genius Networks has announced two new London-based appointments. Amit Chhabra joins the business in the role of technical presales, while Jonathan Bunney is to become the new channel director.
Bunney has worked in senior sales and business development roles for companies such as Cable & Wireless, Telia and Easynet.
“I’ve lived and breathed the channel for many years and have seen how the market has now become commoditised and saturated with me-too offerings,” Bunney said. “With Genius though, I see something genuinely different in their service offering that makes the potential for growth huge."
Only last week, Genius announced that James Roberts would step up from managing director to CEO.
“It’s great to have Amit and Jonathan on board – they’re a perfect fit for our business and have made a positive impact from day one,” Roberts said. “Investing in top talent has always been a priority for us because it’s our people who are the innovators and our people who give us the edge. As well as being integral to our growth strategy, these appointments will help to ensure we continue to be recognised as a leader in our industry.”
Exertis announced the appointment of Matt Cushway to the newly created role of Microsoft general manager. Cushway will be responsible for vendor activities across all areas of the business, including consumer and enterprise.
“It’s an exciting time to be joining Exertis with its diversity in distributing technology that is deployed in the home, business and enterprise. Microsoft is a key vendor in these areas and this newly created role will enable us to create better alignment of our objectives and maximise the strengths of both companies to grow our business in the retail and B2B sectors” said Cushway.
Exclusive Group has appointed Stéphane Duplaix to group director of Strategic Alliances. Duplaix joins Exclusive from Arrow ECS, where he was EMEA sales director. He has also held positions at McAfee, F-Secure, Azlan and EdenWall Technologies.
“Stéphane joins the team at an exciting time,” said Barrie Desmond, COO of Exclusive Group. “We’re on the radar of an increasing number of global SIs and service providers, and maximising this is a major priority for us. In parallel, our vendors continue to ‘market-outperform’, and our global footprint expands almost weekly. This perfect storm of opportunity needs harnessing and we could think of no one better than Stéphane to help achieve this. We’re very pleased and excited that he’s decided to take up the challenge.”
Plantronics announced the appointment of Paul Clark as vice president and managing director of its Europe and Africa business. Clark previously led the business in Northern and Eastern Europe, Russia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
“Paul has deep knowledge of our business, customers and partners and his strengths in global collaboration position him well to help take our company to the next level,” said Ken Kannappan, president and CEO of Plantronics. “He is the ideal choice to build upon the excellent work performed by Philip and to assume leadership of Plantronics in Europe and Africa.”
