The board has instated Insight director Anthony Ibarguen as interim boss while it belatedly kicks off a succession strategy. Previously he was president and COO at Tech Data.

Fennessey took the hot seat at Insight in November 2004 and saw sales develop from $3.1bn in December that year to around $4.8bn in 2008, flat on 2007.
