Microsoft has provided an update on the progress of Windows 7 highlighting the sale of 240m licenses and a large number of firms indicating they are planning to move to the latest OS.
Quoting Forrester Research numbers, the vendor said 89% of organisations are currently testing or deploying the software in the next two years.
There has also been strong take-up in the SME area with the number of desktops and laptops running the OS increasing by 500%, according to numbers from SpiceWorks, in just the last 10 months.
