The number of IT jobs continues to rise with strong demand in particular for contract positions in the last quarter of 2009.
According to the IT Job Board the number of vacancies that have been posted on its site continue to rise with the main skills being looked for including IT managers, SQL and software engineering.

There has been a steady improvement in the jobs landscape in the technology sector since the third quarter of last year as signs of recovery started to filter through to the industry.
"We have continued to see a steady rise in the number of positions being advertised on the site, both towards the end of 2009, and into January 2010; a real sign the market is looking up," said Alex Farrell, managing director of the IT Job Board.
The Skills in Demand survey carried out by the recruitment specialists follows on from previous research it carried out last year which indicated that a majority of employers expected contract jobs to rise in 2010.
