Another week passes us by, delivering some high profile personnel moves across the channel


Hitachi Data Systems announced the appointment of Richard Bradbury to managing director for UK & Ireland, with immediate effect.

Bradbury takes over responsibilities from Richard Gadd, who has moved up to become SVP and general manager for the EMEA region.

Bradbury joins from SAS, where he was channels and alliances director. Apparently a fan of three letter companies, he’s also held senior leadership roles at EMC and PTC.

“Growth and innovation doesn’t happen by chance; it comes from harnessing technology with the best human minds,” said Bradbury. “I’m thrilled to join Hitachi Data Systems at a time when data – and the information it holds – can unlock true change within a business.”

Richard brings very relevant experience and we know he’ll be pivotal in helping Hitachi Data Systems support its customers and reach its goals.”


Avnet announced that Bill J. Amelio has been appointed permenant chief executive officer of the company, effective immediately. Amelio has been acting as interim CEO since July, and now, Avnet’s board has decided that he is the best candidate for the role.

Amelio was the president, chief executive officer and a director of CHC Group, an international oil-field services company, from 2010 to 2015. He also served as president and CEO of Lenovo for four years, until 2009.

“The board, under the leadership of the Corporate Governance Committee and with a nationally recognized executive search firm, conducted a review of both internal and external candidates that could be available and concluded that Bill is the best candidate for the CEO position,” said William Schumann, chairman of the board. “Avnet is fortunate to have someone of Bill’s character and experience. He brings energy and focus to the business, and the board unanimously agreed that making him the permanent CEO was in the best interest of our customers, employees and shareholders.”


Security intelligence and analytics provider LogRhythm has announced the appointment of Deborah Dodson as senior director of EMEA Channels and Alliances.

Dodson will have responsibility for overseeing all of LogRhythm’s EMEA channel activities, developing the existing channel programme and focusing on new partner recruitment.

She joins LogRhythm from Hewlett Packard Enterprise Aruba, where she held a variety of roles, including channel sales director and business development director. She’s also racked up experience at Cisco and Bay Networks.

WhiteHat Security

Application security provider WhiteHat Security announced the appointment of Richard Dobber as vice president of sales for EMEA. Based in Netherlands, he will be responsible for leading WhiteHat’s EMEA sales strategy.

Prior to joining WhiteHat, Dobber held a similar role at ThreatMetrix. Prior to that, he was SVP of sales operations EMEA for Descartes Systems Group.
