Avaya has launched a new network lifecycle management solution, available to both customers and channel partners.
The Avaya Cloud Networking Platform, launched at IP Expo today, aims to take some of the pain out of deploying and managing wired and wireless networks.
The platform provides IT professionals and resellers with centralised management, visibility, and control over networks. On premise hardware is configured and managed in the cloud, allowing customers to modify network services directly from an all-in-one dashboard. Pricing for the cloud networking management service is on a subscription basis.
“Network management and security are two of the hottest topics at IP Expo,” said Jean Turgeon, chief technologist, Avaya Networking. “As the demand for unified access solutions continues to grow, the burden of managing and securing networks has become nearly untenable - especially at a time when there’s pressure to reduce IT budgets and resources. The Avaya Cloud Networking Platform provides the much needed relief with a highly-secure, cost-effective solution that fits any size business.”
The networking and communications vendor is now three years into its plan to move away from its dependence on hardware. Its efforts appeared to have paid off, as the majority of Avaya’s revenue now comes through software and services.
The Avaya Cloud Networking Platform will be generally available globally with support for wireless in November 2016 and support for wired networks coming in a follow-on release.
