Moves this week at Azlan, RES, NetApp and G2G3


NetApp announced the appointment of Henri Richard as executive vice president of worldwide field and customer operations.

Richard succeeds Rob Salmon, who is retiring following more than 22 years at the company. He joins NetApp from SanDisk, where he was vice president of commercial sales and support.

“It’s an energizing time at NetApp, and we welcome Henri to the team to help us take advantage of our unique position in the changing IT landscape,” said George Kurian, chief executive officer at NetApp.

“Henri has a strong track record for results-oriented and hands-on leadership. His experience will be instrumental in helping NetApp build upon the strength of our Data Fabric strategy and our technology leadership position in flash as we pivot toward the growth areas of the market. With Henri’s leadership, we look forward to expanding the value we deliver from our differentiated portfolio, global customer base, broad partner ecosystem, and scalable pathways to market.”   

In the role, Richard will expand relationships with NetApp’s strategic technology partners, resellers, and customers across the globe.


Azlan has announced the appointment of Simon Bennett as business unit director for IBM Dell/EMC and Lenovo Enterprise, and Peter Spreadbury as director of software.

Bennett has been at Azlan for nearly seven years, most recently as general manager of sales. In his new role he will be responsible for managing key enterprise infrastructure partners, including IBM, Dell, EMC, Lenovo, Avaya and Brocade.

Spreadbury served as software director and previously as director of vendor alliances at SCC. Prior to joining the reseller, he worked in various senior roles at Hewlett Packard. He will be responsible for managing relationships with VMware, VERITAS, Citrix, Nutanix, IGEL, and Atlantis.

RES announced the appointment of Tom Flink to senior vice president of sales and services. Flink will take on leadership responsibility for the company’s global field operations, including sales, channels, services and customer success.

NSFOCUS announced that Aftab Afzal has joined the company as the new senior VP and general manager for the EMEA region.

The network security solutions provider has focused primarily in the Asia/Pacific market; however, the new NSFOCUS International Business subsidiary will attempt to expand the firm’s reach in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

 “As we move forward with our global initiatives, we need the very best professionals to enhance our presence in new markets, and Aftab is exactly that person,” said Allan Thompson, COO of NSFOCUS IB. “He has worked with an amazing variety of enterprise technology solution providers, and succeeded in every capacity. G2G3, part of Capita, announced the appointment of Gary Dunn as head of global channel.

Dunn previously served as vice president of global strategic partnerships and alliances for Atos.

As head of global channel, Dunn will take a key role in developing strategic partnerships.

Elaine Van Der Berg, global director of sales and marketing for G2G3, said: “I’m thrilled to have Gary join the team. He brings a wealth of experience in alliance and partnership building in the UK and internationally.
