Epson reveals distribution network for WorkForce RIPS printers

Epson opens its long lasting inkjet business printers up to the channel

Epson has announced the distribution channel for its WorkForce Pro Replaceable In Pack Systems (RIPS).

The WorkForce Pro RIPS are an innovative new range of enterprise-class inkjet printers, which contain enough ink to print up to 75,000 pages – enough to print continuously for an average of three years according to the vendor. The longevity of the ink, Epson says, will offer businesses the financial predictability that comes with a centralised print model, but with the productivity benefits of a distributed printer fleet model.

“WorkForce Pro RIPS significantly lowers the environmental burden of logistics and recycling of toners, photoconductors, drums and packaging often associated with competitive laser printers,” Epson said in a statement. “This can help companies meet their environmental targets and eliminates the need to manage complicated collection and recycling programmes.”

The RIPS series will be available from a network of 26 managed print service providers throughout the UK, including ASL, Bytek Ltd, Contrac, Sapphire Print Solutions and Scan DB.

“We have spent some time making absolutely sure we have just the right mix of partners,” said Mark Allen, reseller product manager, Business Imaging at Epson UK.

“They are all well established in the managed print industry and combine a blend of product knowledge, market experience, sales support and training to ensure that our customers receive the very best levels of service possible.”

Epson said that it would be looking to grow the channel in the coming months.
