Data protection and big data management specialist Quantum has launched a channel-targeted programme designed to help resellers and managed service providers alike brand, market and sell Quantum-powered backup-as-a-service solutions.
With Quantum’s virtual deduplication appliances and vmPRO backup software under the bonnet, Quantum claims that using an all-virtual, all-software approach it can help partners offer more scalable backup offerings and reduce the need for large CAPEX outlays.
Under the terms of the programme, partners will license virtual appliances from Quantum on a capacity basis, both making the channel a more valued partner to customers, and helping customers realise the benefits of deduplication for cloud backup more quickly.
Free online sales and pre-sales training, customisable marketing resoucres, free access to trial and demo software, and technical and support training, backup the backup, said Quantum.
Jason Buffington, senior analyst at the Enterprise Strategy Group commented: “What previously held providers back has been security concerns within monolithic storage arrays and the heavy initial capital costs for starting this kind of service.
“Quantum is addressing both of those concerns through this new service pricing model and its virtual appliance offerings.”
