Distributor ASM Technologies has been chosen by BT Global Services to provide its Diamond IP solution to customers across the EMEA region.
The deal is designed to boost market share in the UK market and with IP underpinning communication across the web and address space soon to be exhausted across IPv4, this represents big opportunities for ASM to enable firms to manage their data networks as deployment of IPv6 looms.
“Deployment of IPv6 should be among the key target milestones for customers to keep pace with the continuous evolution of the internet,” stressed Michael Dooley at BT Diamond IP.
“Our most recent IPv6 industry survey suggests that over half of the world’s enterprises are already deploying or plan to deploy IPv6 across all or part of their networks by 2015,” he added.
The deal will help the market ensure compatibility across its infrastructure for the deployment while protecting existing estates, with features such as local support from trained experts available to BT Diamond IP customers.
Dooley stated “This is a significant market opportunity as enterprises may require assessment, planning and deployment assistance to deploy IPv6 as smoothly as possible without disrupting their critical network infrastructure,”
The partnership will focus on driving the sales of IPAM products and services into the mid and upper markets across the region and Iain Tomkinson, sales director at ASM Technologies, said that it was a timely moment to be striking an IPv6 partnership. welcomed the deal: "The clock is ticking on IPv4 so there has never been a better time for enterprises to make the transition.”
