Research by Siemens Enterprise Communications has revealed compelling evidence that dealers should encourage SMEs to ramp up their unified comms spend.
A survey of over 250 firms in Europe conducted by SIS International on Siemens’ behalf found that businesses were wasting up to 40% of productive time on ‘pain points’ associated with badly integrated comms channels and that many were wasting nearly €4,000 per employee per annum as a result.
It emerged that 70% of SMEs quizzed by the number-crunchers claimed that their comms systems were causing them delays in receiving internal communications that in turn threw up barriers to collaboration and caused productivity levels to crash.
Other pressure points cited included confusion over fielding customer complaints and unwanted communications such as spam.
“European companies [have] made heavy investments in communications networks and devices without being able to harness them for greater productivity,” said SEC head of global SME marketing, Martin Northend.
He continued: “Companies need to bring disparate communications onto integrated platforms that support rather than complicate staff operations.”
