Cloud enablement specialist DevTech has signed up Ingram Micro and indicated it is planning a major channel push in the next few months.
The firm develops its own multi-cloud platform vPoint and the distributor will be making that available to resellers via the Ingram Micro Cloud platform.
The decision to work with a distributor comes at a time when interest from the channel in cloud management solutions is growing due to customers struggling to deal with increasingly complex multi-platform environments.
Research from Turbonomic last month revealed that many firms were really struggling with managing multi-cloud environments, with many having made the wrong decision to buy on price, rather than what was best suited to their business needs.
DevTech is also working in the area of making life easier for customers, trying to smooth the complexities that happen as various private and public cloud services are adopted by customers.
“Service providers and telecommunication companies around the world are increasing the number of different cloud infrastructure technologies in their offerings. As a result, they are faced with operational and business complexities which get transferred onto the end-customer," stated Milovan Milic, CEO of DevTech.
"Cloud infrastructure should be less complex for the end-customer, and this is the goal we have set to achieve with vPoint," he added that Ingram would help it take the solution out to a much wider market.
From Ingram's point of view the distributor has been making efforts to promote its cloud platform and only yesterday highlighted the promotions it has running around Microsoft cloud services.
“Ingram Micro remains committed to helping businesses realize the promise of technology through cloud services and we are pleased to partner with DevTech to further expand on these efforts,” said Sean Oberholtzer, director, cloud business development, Ingram Micro.
He added that the technology would appeal to those partners looking to improve their infrastructure as a service offering.
The Ingram tie-up marks the first major stage in ongoing plans to increase European partner numbers as DevTech looks to get its piece of the IaaS jigsaw in front of a much greater number of resellers.
