Pure Storage today unveiled its new two-tier distribution strategy as well as two brand new execs to head it all up.
Pure revealed its new dual distribution model, with two distributors per country – one local and one pan regional. The firm says that by adding a regional distribution tier in international markets, it hopes to give channel partners broader access to new markets.
Joining the firm, former Riverbed and Symantec executive Alex Hesterberg will take on the elongated title of vice president of customer and partner success and technology services. His job will be to oversee partner advisory, enablement and education services.
“We have gathered key learnings from customer engagements and woven them into strategies our team will use to drive velocity and facilitate the sharing of best practices with our partners,” Hesterberg commented. “Our Enablement, Advisory, and Education functions, combined with the experience of our technical experts, provide the backbone of a rich services ecosystem that partners can leverage to more effectively serve the market.”
Michael Sotnick, who was channel chief for both Moovweb and Quest Software, will become VP of global channel and alliances. Sotnick will be responsible for Pure’s ‘velocity in the market’; essentially helping resellers and disties to sell as Pure as possible.
Sotnick will also be responsible for forming and strengthening alliances that better enable partner success.
“Pure Storage is the only top-to-bottom channel focused company in the storage industry creating enormous opportunity for partners to upgrade their customer’s existing Tier-1 disk environments to all flash,” said Sotnick. “The team has built a world class program to help partners maximise value for their clients and I am excited to further strengthen and extend these important and strategic relationships.”
