Endpoint data protection specialist Druva today announced the appointment of Rick Powles as EMEA regional vice president.
Heading up sales operations, Powles will concentrate on accelerating the company’s EMEA penetration.
Powles has racked up 20 years of experience in technology sales roles; prior to joining Druva, he was UK managing director at C and has held senior positions as Oracle, Symantec and Commvault.
“Gaining control over enterprise information on employee devices is becoming a critical IT priority that is not being adequately addressed by traditional backup vendors. Druva was among the first to recognise this need and has the most mature endpoint data protection and governance solution on the market,” Powles said.
“Virtually every organisation needs to add this kind of product to its infrastructure, and that gives me a nearly unlimited opportunity to help Druva grow its business.”
Druva founder and CEO Jaspreet Singh, said: “Rick’s deep experience with server backup and his understanding of the EMEA market make him the ideal candidate to drive our business in the region, expand our channel and field operations, and ensure that Druva gains and retains the leading market share in the space.”
The appointment of Powles coincides with the completion of $25m in Series D funding from Sequoia Capital, Nexus Venture Partners and Tenaya Capital, in order to aid the rapid expansion of the business.
