Quantum extends big data team

Quantum has extended its big data team as it looks to ramp up the volume of business it enjoys in that side of that market in Europe

Quantum has hired a couple of storage industry veterans to help increase its focus on big data across EMEA with a brief to increase sales across key verticals including media, life sciences and oil.

The storage player has brought Aurelien Goujet on board as director of pre-sales big data EMEA hiring him from Isilon Systems. His CV also includes spells at NetApp and Compuware.

Laurent Fanichet, a former Atempo director, joins as product marketing manager big data EMEA and APAC. Both will join the existing big data team and add some muscle to the ambitions the vendor holds in this area of the market next year.

“The addition of Laurent and Aurélien to our EMEA Big Data team is a positive step and signals our intent to achieve growth in this market,” said Xavier Guerin, vice president sales EMEA.

“With their combined skills and expertise in data intensive industries, such as media & entertainment and life sciences, they will help drive sales of our StorNext Solution,” he added.
