Brocade has finally confirmed the appointment of ex-Nortel hotshot Amanda Giddins as its new EMEA channel sales director.
Giddins has had her feet under the desk for a few weeks now and has spent her time developing and refining Brocade's channel-facing strategy,as well as accelerating recruitment and sales programmes.
She is also spearheading Brocade's recently-launched channel programme, which was unveiled at the end of May as part of a revised business strategy brought in after its entry into the networking space last year.
The appointment marks something of a coup for Brocade, which is busy building out its networking proposition following the acquisition of Foundry Networks; Giddins formerly held the post of European enterprise channel leader at Nortel, where she had considerable success in growing Nortel's indirect reseller business across the region.
"The opportunity facing Brocade and its channel is immense,"Giddins said. "Our aim is to develop a global programme that is selective, differentiated, profitable and fosters a high return on partner investment, and the team in EMEA is relishing the challenge."
