Astaro has revealed plans to work with Arc Technology withthe aim of increasing the support available to help resellers sell securityinto the SME market.

The relationship has come about because of theidentification by Astaro of the small business market as one prime to take upwell priced security products.

“We have to be more structured in the way we approach ourmarketing activity and developing new partners and it helps get the quality up,”said Andrew Fourie, UK country manager at Astaro.

One of the key planks of the campaign is to promoteappliances that are easier to manage than various point products and asresources dipped there was greater SME interest in managed services.

“We haven’t seen a drop-off in interest but we are having tohelp resellers be creative with budgets and licensing because customers oftendon’t have the cap-ex budget to invest,” he said.

In a statement, Stuart Reay, managing director of ArcTechnology, said that it helped to outline how resellers could make adifference to customers.
