CMS Distribution steps into the cloud with The Bunker

CMS Distribution continues to expand into security and has taken its first move into the cloud after signing up The Bunker

CMS Distribution continues to expand beyond its storage roots by adding more security products to the portfolio as well as taking some of its first steps into the cloud.

The channel player has added secure hosting player The Bunker to its roster giving it the opportunity to offer cloud and co-location services to resellers looking to help customers store their data.

The Bunker delivers the sort of experience that should appeal to the most nervous of customers worried about allowing their information to be placed into a data centre thanks to its  ISO27001, IGSoC, PCI DSS accredited IT infrastructure and cloud services that are based in a former MoD nuclear bunker.

From a CMS perspective the agreement gives it the chance to offer cloud to its resellers as well as extending the data security options that it can provide keeping the momentum going on that side of the business.

“We will be focusing more and more on our software portfolio. We have just entered into a partnership with Barracuda and a few more security focused partners are also waiting in the wings. The Bunker allows CMS Distribution to not only strengthen its Security and Storage footprint, but to take one of its first steps into the Cloud," said Tierna Henry, group software manager at CMS Distribution.

Henry added that the distributor was always looking for partnerships that would complement its existing portfolio and it had been asked for a while to provide an off-premise secure data proposition.

In response, Peregrine Newton, CEO at The Bunker, said that it was attracted to working with a distributor with a long track record in delivering data storage expertise.

“The Bunker are looking forward to working with CMS Distribution, as our complementary secure cloud storage solutions offer great opportunity for resellers to quickly and simply add recurring cloud based revenue to their existing and new customers," he said.
