ITS Technology Group (ITS) has made its third major acquisition this year, this time sweeping up the assets of Welsh broadband firm Xwavia Limited.
The broadband infrastructure and managed services provider acquired Xwavia’s assets for an undisclosed sum. ITS said that the deal would extend its fibre and wireless footprint, enabling it to reach remote and rural areas in Wales such as Anglesey, Conway and Powys.
ITS will maintain the Xwavia brand, will take on existing customer contracts and has safeguarded both the office in Welshpool as well as the roles of 12 technical and operational staff.
“We have made three strategic acquisitions this year in order to strengthen our proposition as a leading broadband provider to those areas that are overlooked by the big players,” said Roy Shelton, CEO and founder of ITS. “Xwavia has successfully delivered broadband to areas of Wales that aren’t even served by mains gas, electricity or water. Its methods of providing broadband will benefit and play a much wider role across ITS’ customer base and projects.”
The year of acquisitions, combined with organic growth, has resulted in ITS doubling the number of residential and business customers connected to its broadband infrastructure.
