Exertis has brought on board a former Microsoft staffer Fiona Cooke into a senior marketing role as the distributor looks to grow awareness of its brand across both the UK and Europe.
Cooke spent six years at Microsoft including sales and marketing roles in the firm's OEM team, retail division and had a long spell as general manager for marketing in distribution.
She also has some time at Computer 2000 under her belt, spending not far off six years at the firm before joining Microsoft.
In the marketing director role she will be charged with driving awareness of the distie's brand as well as looking to develop the firm's own internet-based support and CRM efforts.
Gerry O'Keeffe, Exertis’ managing director UK & Ireland, said that Cooke's CV meant that she could come on board with the experience needed to mastermind the next stage of the firms marketing efforts.
“[The marketing team] will benefit from both her vision and wealth of channel knowledge which will be invaluable as we pursue our strategy to grow Exertis into new markets and territories," he said.
In response, Cooke said it was a "pivotal time" to be joining Exertis: "I look forward to helping take the Exertis brand and marketing from strength-to-strength in line with the company’s long term goals."
Over the course of the year Exertis has been bringing on board several vendors with the aim of widening its proposition as well as taking the wraps off a solutions business unit to help resellers increase their profitability.
