Logicalis moves in on internal help desks

Logicalis has taken the wraps off a service to provide direct desktop support to mid market users

Managed service and cloud provider Logicalis, has unveiled a service designed to provide direct support to mid-market business end-users.

Dubbed 'end-user workspace services' the offering aims to remove the cost and management complexity for businesses of supporting the IT needs of their workforces.

The move is designed to take advantage of a growing trend by businesses to adopt mobile strategies and the difficulties it can cause internal IT teams.

Colin Deamer, services sales director at Logicalis UK, said: “Users now need to be connected anytime, anywhere, from any device. This changing environment has put increasing pressure on the delivery of internal end-user support services, which often fail to meet expectations and satisfaction levels.”

Logicalis says it already has a number of customers for the service in the areas of enterprise mobility, unified communications and core business applications. Designed to be tailored for differing technology needs the service has also been developed with emerging technologies in mind. It has three core components; workspace service desk, workspace management services and workspace lifecycle services. 

The ultimate aim of Logicalis is to replace internal support-desk environments. To this end the company has created a specialist team to run the services which are delivered via its managed service centres in Slough and Nantgarw, Wales,

Meanwhile, the company recently appointed channel veteran Tony Brooker as its new UK sales and marketing chief, in a bid to drive up sales. Brooker is set to take up his post on 4 August. He was previously EMEA sales vice president at Insight, the US-owned reseller.
