Networking, comms, datacentre and security distributor Westcon is to buy UK- based Cisco support specialist Intact Integrated Services (IIS) off mutual parent Datatec.
South Africa-based Datatec has been in full control of IIS since 2009 when the services provider was spun out of Datatec’s Logicalis in an attempt to eradicate concerns over channel conflict.
Westcon believes the addition of IIS to its armoury will strengthen its commitment to partner-led services offerings and bring broader capabilities to its reseller community.
IIS specialises in revenue generation, project delivery and support services, as well as white-label services and support around networking, datacentre and cloud and collaboration. It claims to help resellers accelerate revenues through geographic expansion, or entry into new technology markets.
It will now become part of Westcon’s Global Services Solution Practice under EVP Pedro Galatas.
“Westcon is a distributor who truly ‘gets’ value-added services and our unique business model. This level of commitment fits perfectly into our ‘Create, Deliver, Support’ business pillars,’” said Alan Rosser, CEO at IIS.
“With strong experience in the networking, security, data center and cloud space – and one of the deepest global footprints – Westcon is the perfect match to take our leadership even further.”
Westcon CEO Dolph Westerbos added: “Each of our Practices is designed to help partners benefit from the deep technology expertise and real-world business solutions we bring to the table –reflecting how Westcon provides greater value-add than any other distributor in the market today.
“As a leader in channel services, Intact will become strong foundation in our Services Practice, helping partners generate new revenue streams via value-added services.”
