HP's Technology Services unit is lining up a series of new services for the channel to be launched over the next three to six months, and partners who may be concerned over the potential loss of the PSG business will be encouraged to move up the value stack to take advantage of the enhancements.
Technology Services channel manager Paul Early said that HP was keen to give partners more control of other aspects of their customer relationships, and said the firm was currently working on opening up other areas of its portfolio to enable partners to install and deliver installation and break-fix services across its product base.
Currently, partners have been able to offer these services on HP's IPG, PSG and ISS lines, but Early said this would change later in the year.
"As long as they jump through the right hoops they'll be able to install 3PAR products and our high-end networking product ranges," he told MicroScope.
"It allows them to be in control of design, installation and management so the customer sees a seamless approach from a highly qualified partner," he said. "About a year from now we'll open up the ability to deliver break-fix on those products too."
