Lexmark is looking to the channel to exclusively take its latest laser printer range out to the SME market across EMEA.
The printer vendor has launched its 4-Year guarantee SMB line of 23 laser printers that are only available through partners and supported by benefits gained through the distribution bundle programme.
The firm is also going to provide further pricing and margin allocation benefits and help the channel control stock inventory and cash flow management.
The range of printers goes from entry-level mono up to colour and multifunction and is covered by a four year guarantee that is designed to tempt those customers thinking of investing in the hardware.
"Lexmark is committed to supporting its loyal channel partners by ensuring they always have the right mix of competitively priced products to offer to their customers,” said Martin Fairman, UK and Ireland channel and SMB sales director of Lexmark.
“We are always looking for new ways to innovate to make it easier for our valued partners to be successful in offering the right solutions to their customers. The new “4-Year Guarantee SMB Line” product range addresses small and media business customers with a dedicated and attractive hardware and supplies offering, which allow our partners to really compete and succeed," he added.
The Lexmark move is part of a larger trend in the printer world to make products that are designed to be sold by partners and follows just weeks after fellow print player Xerox also boosted its number of channel friendly products and indicated it was looking for more resellers to work with.
It is also a reminder that although most of the focus in the channel over the last few years has been on print management there is still a role for resellers in delivering the hardware.
