Nuvias rolls UC practice out across EMEA

Nuvias has started to lean on the UC expertise it acquired with SIPHON and roll out a practice across EMEA

It has taken just a few months for Nuvias to bring the expertise to bear that it acquired from SIPHON Networks and launch an EMEA Unified Communications practice.

Nuvias picked up SIPHON back in October to add UC to its portfolio and has now revealed plans to roll out those services across the EMEA region, starting in Germany, over the next few months.

The expectation is that existing UC vendors that are signed up by the distribution group will leap at the chance to see the coverage extended as will resellers that have specialised in this area.

“A major reason for joining Nuvias last year was the chance it gave us to grow and expand both in the UK and internationally. The UC EMEA launch of Nuvias lays the foundations for achieving that ambition," said Steve Harris, EVP unified communications, Nuvias and managing director of SIPHON.

“This is a very exciting time in UC across EMEA, with really significant opportunities for the IT channel to move into the lucrative UC market and conquer the legacy competition. We believe that, as part of Nuvias, we are the right solutions and technology enabler to provide the service, support and technical know-how our channel partners want to help them make the most of this market opportunity," he added.

The demand for UC, particularly from the SME community, has been growing over the last 18 months as more customers take an interest in the technology.

Paul Eccleston, CEO of Nuvias, said that it has been able to lean on the expertise of SIPHON and work with vendors to make sure what it was developing in the EMEA region would deliver what the channel and customers needed.

"SIPHON’s strong technical and solution engineering expertise has enabled it to work closely with vendors and resellers on the development of UC solutions; this factor, together with the provision of a very high level of service and solutions capabilities from SIPHON, has been instrumental in its success," he said.
