Enterprise storage player NetApp has revealed it has appointed a UK & Ireland country manager as it looks to drive more growth out of the country and increase the support it can provide customers.
The vendor has brought Elliot Howard on board to run the UK and Ireland in a move that does not directly replace anyone but does provide more leadership in country.
Dave Allen had been running the UK but holds the title of vice president and general manager Northern EMEA at NetApp and Howard will now step into the shoes that he used to fill at a country manager level.
Howard (pictured) has a CV that includes a five-year spell at Hewlett-Packard as global client business manager and joins NetApp from Sopra Banking Software where he spent four years as UK managing director.
His brief includes cranking up sales and expanding operations as well as developing the field sales operations to make sure that customers are kept up-to-date on its current offerings.
In his statement accompanying his appointment announcement Howard not only praised NetApp's technology and position in the market but also highlighted the role of the channel, describing it as having a "strong partner ecosystem".
Northern EMEA head Allen said that it had chosen Howard because of he experience and his track record of working with some of the largest enterprise customers.
“He brings tremendous insight from previous engagements managing global customer relationships, sales, and portfolio strategies, all of which are key in helping our partners and customers leverage their data assets and maximize their business value," he said.
