Trustmarque Solutions has strengthened its position North of the border after acquiring Glasgow-based IT consultancy and services Opin Systems in a share purchase deal.
The deal adds more Scottish feet on the ground for Trustmarque, which already has an office in Edinburgh, as well as sites in York and London, and got the support of Dunedin, which had backed the £43m MBO back in June.
“We have first-hand experience of working with Opin and were in no doubt that there is a big opportunity here. Opin have a superb reputation in Scotland, but they have long-term customers throughout the UK. I know that with Trustmarque’s scale, capabilities and resources, they can build on their successes so far," said Trustmarque CEO Scott Haddow.
“Dunedin’s support for our growth plans was key to making this acquisition possible, and we continue to focus on those plans. Trustmarque is dedicated to deepening its expertise, offering the services that provide real value to our customers," he added.
Opin founder and managing director Graham Curran will stay with the business heading up the Opin division, and added that it had worked with Trustmarque and taken the view that the firm was the right one to take the company forward.
