Colt Ceano names SAS Global as first franchise partner

Managed network and professional services provider SAS Global Communications moves into SME cloud services market with Colt Ceano services portfolio

Colt Ceano has named SAS Global Communications as its first franchise partner in the UK, giving the managed network and professional services provider access to its new portfolio of on-demand SME cloud services.

Formed as a result of Colt’s 2012 acquisition of ThinkGrid, Ceano offers a wide range of cloud services including IAS (Internet Access Services); mobility; Microsoft Exchange, Lync and SharePoint; virtual project workspaces, servers and infrastructure, desktops, firewalls and security; and cloud backup and disaster recovery, all of which SAS Global will now be adding to its offering.

SAS will also get access to Colt’s dedicated account team, training programme, tech consultants and commercial experts, giving customers the benefit of both companies’ expertise.

Charles Davis, SAS CEO, painted the partnership as a critical part of the firm’s strategy for the coming years.

“One of our goals is to develop new and distinct channels to market, that will complement existing partner relationships and enhance SAS’s overall value proposition for customers,” he explained.

“By adding the Colt portfolio to our own, we increase the quality and diversity of managed services we are able to deliver to our customers. This builds on our strategy to move into the cloud services market and our recent acquisition of the software development company Trigger means that we have the skills and capability to take Colt Ceano to market.”

Colt’s franchise channel director, Carol Alexander, said she saw growing demand for a range of managed services supported by robust voice and data connectivity, which played to Colt’s wider networking strengths.

“By offering our franchise partners the opportunity to sell these solutions under the Colt brand, it will accelerate the reach of our services in the market,” she said.

Colt is currently on the lookout for more specialist VARs to join its franchise programme across Europe.
