Barracuda has been growing the number of managed service providers it works with building on the technology it acquired with the Intronis purchase 15 months ago.
The vendor has signed up CMS Distribution to help it reach even more MSPs across the UK and Ireland with the distributor offering cloud security and data protection.
Last month the firm added a next-generation firewall and managed backup appliance to the services it can offer partners and has found that its partner numbers have been swelling.
Speaking to MicroScope a few weeks ago Jason Howells, director EMEA, MSP sales at Barracuda Networks, said that it had seen a different type of partner looking to work with the vendor as more managed service players looked to add security and data protection to the mix of solutions they could offer.
“CMS’s sector-leading MSP relationships and experience complement our partner capabilities and working together will enable us to capitalise on growth opportunities across the United Kingdom,” said Howells. "We are aligned to support rapid market adoption of managed security and data protection services globally, providing committed MSP partners with an advantage.”
The vendor has made no secret of its plans to expand its channel base and the CMS signing is part of that strategy but should also appeal to the resellers that work with the distributor.
“We feel that Barracuda MSP offers a stable and scalable platform for our partners who are interested in breaking into the MSP market and to our existing MSP partners wanting to expand their portfolio. With no upfront investment and an easy to use platform, Barracuda MSP encompasses security and data protection via both on premise and in the cloud offerings," said Justin Griffiths, group director of software solutions at CMS Distribution.
"With the development of our automated billing tool assisting in the organic growth of our MSP partner base over the last year, both CMS Distribution and Barracuda MSP are excited to work together," he added.
