BigTec expands portfolio with Elastifile signing

BigTec has continued to expand its vendor roster signing up hybrid cloud data player Elastifile

Datacentre channel specialist BigTec has continued to add vendors to its roster that can help resellers deliver a solution for customers.

The latest vendor to reach out to the distributor is software-defined storage player Elastifile, which should help partners selling technology to help customers dealing with hybrid cloud environments.

In a nutshell Elastifile offers a flash-native cloud file system for active data sets and a global namespace across on-premise sites and clouds. For inactive data, Elastifile CloudConnect is an integrated extension for low-cost object tiering that maintains the file system semantics and granular check-in/out for any S3-compatible storage.

More customers are starting to appreciate that data is the foundation of a digital transformation strategy and Jason Dance, managing director at BigTec UK, said that the Elastifile offering was part of that story.

“Data is a core pillar of any business and storage is the foundation upon which it sits.” said Dance “Many customers see hybrid cloud as the panacea and are seeking a solution that will provide data freedom, rather than being locked to a specific location, premises or cloud. Elastifile solves this challenge, and then some.”

The distributor is adding the technology to its NEO platform and is going to put some muscle into marketing the Elastifile offering out to the channel.
